What We Believe:
We believe in the Triune God -- Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit.
We believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, and the
Gospel as the power of God for salvation for all who believe.
We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
are the written Word of God, inspired by God's Spirit speaking
through their authors, recording and announcing God's revelation
centering in Jesus Christ.
We believe
the Church to be a people created by God in Christ and sustained
by the Holy Spirit, called, and sent to communicate God's
creative, redeeming, and sanctifying activity in the world.

*A Message from Pastor Sarah:
Go in Peace; Serve the
Lord! That's what I yell (in a good way) at you each
Sunday. And you say "Thanks be to God!" pretty
enthusiastically. So then, what happens next? That's
what I want to know...how do you serve the Lord on
Sunday afternoon? Monday morning? Tuesday evening?
Wednesday at lunch? Friday night? On Facebook? At your
book club? In your neighborhood? At your office/school?
One of my favorite things is to know what you all are up
to with regard to your faith during the week. It makes a
pastor REALLY proud to see or hear about their peeps
(read people) doing fantabulous things and sharing their
faith BOLDLY. So, tell me a story. I won't use it in a
sermon unless you say it's okay to ☺.
A fun thing about Facebook is that I get a bit of an
insight into people's lives and activities. Not in a
creepy way, but in a lovely way. 2 examples: Karla
Kitoski reported to all her Facebook friends about a
meaningful experience she had in worship on a Wednesday
night in Advent. Roni Hyatt posted an invitation to
everyone of her friends to "make sure not to miss this
Sunday at church, the kids are leading worship and it'll
be great!"
Delighted to be serving God with you, Family of God,
Pastor Sarah Bunge

Becoming a Member:
New members are received at Family of God on a New
Member Sunday, typically either in spring or fall. Your
participation in a series of Sunday noon get-acquainted sessions is part
of the preparation for membership. This is a chance for some current
members and staff to meet you and for you to meet them and others
joining the congregation in an informative and relaxed session.
Individuals or families are also welcome to meet separately with the
pastor or another staff member about any matters of faith or church
involvement. We celebrate new members joining the Body of Christ
in this place. We also celebrate the presence of friends of the
congregation and visitors not ready for the step of membership.
Click here for information on the next "New Member"
sessions.
