“Circle of Strength” is a 6-week education/support group for women in past or present abusive relationships. The series begins Tuesday, September 21, 6:30 – 8 pm at North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale, facilitated by SafeJourney. The group is free and confidential.

Mpls Area Synod Women of the ELCA invite women to the 2010 Annual Gathering on Saturday, September 25, 8 am to 4:30 pm at Christ Lutheran Church in Blaine. Speakers include the author of “Growing up Lutheran” and former bishop Rev. April Ulring Larson.

Christian Yoga for Women

Begins again Tuesday, September 14 at 7:30 pm. The sessions continue weekly, skipping the first Tuesday of each month, and are open to any interested adult or youth, at no cost. The leader is member, Gen Loberg, who combines her yoga experience and training with a hospitable approach that accommodates all participants and is grounded in prayerfulness. Bring a yoga mat and water to drink and eat only lightly or two hours ahead of the workout.

Scrapbooking Group

This group welcomes other crafters as well. If you don’t know how to scrap and would like to get started talk to anyone in the group and they can suggest basic supplies to get you started. Come for as much time as your schedule allows. Members of the group that can answer your questions are Terri Anderson-Webb, Kathy Behrens, Karla Kitoski, Jeri Oswalt, Allison Peterson, or Nancy Rhinhart.

Women's Tuesday Evening Bible Study

This Bible study and friendship group meets in homes.  Newcomers are always welcome, and hosting is voluntary.  Location of each meeting is available at church. 

We are discussing a new segment in the ELCA Book of Faith series: “A Gardener, Two Travelers, and a Cheat” – Adam, Abraham, Sarah and Jacob. Ginny Lanctot leads. New attenders are welcome!

Dads Bible Study

Meets for one hour of Bible study, fellowship, and a great breakfast.  All fathers with children at home are welcome. Talk to Pastor Paul with questions.

Men’s Saturday Breakfast Group

Monthly Saturday breakfast and property projects as needed.  All men and friends of FOG are invited to come for a delicious breakfast and fellowship.  Bring a friend!  Please sign up at the church or call if you plan to attend.

Tuesday Morning Bible Study

This fall the Tuesday Bible Study will study the basic tenets of the other faiths, including Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and some offshoots of Christianity including Mormonism and the Jehovah’s Witnesses. We’ll use a variety of resources, including guest speakers, videos, and other resources. We meet 9:45 am on Tuesday morning, led by Pastor Paul, beginning September 21st, for app. 10 weeks. In addition, an evening class will be offered, led by Alan Aleckson, meeting Tuesday evenings at 7pm, and covering the same material. Sign ups will be available on the narthex bulletin board. There is no cost for the class—come and join us for a fascinating study!
