Operation
Christmas Child
Shoebox Packing & Warehouse Work
November 3, 2008 and December 9, 2008
What is OCC? Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God’s love. Since 1993, more than 61 million shoe boxes have been packed, shipped, and delivered across the globe. People of all ages can be involved in this simple, hands-on missions project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus Christ.
The Sunday School children at FOG
packed 28 boxes: 18 for ages 9-13 (the ages they receive the fewest boxes)
and 10 for ages 5-8.
The kids worked in shifts; some writing letters or drawing pictures to put in
each shoebox, others starting off by filling the boxes with small toys, pencils,
coloring books, and goodies (some essential like toothbrushes, some just for fun
like candy!).
Operation Christmas Child Warehouse
December 9, 2008
On Tuesday, December 9, a group of Family of God youth and adults spent 3 hours at the Operation Christmas Child warehouse double checking shoebox contents and preparing boxes for shipping.
