"Suspect Hollywood"
Lights, camera, MYSTERY! The FOG Drama Ministry is teaming up with South Santiago Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, MN to host another Mystery Dinner Theater production, and this time we’re putting on “Suspect Hollywood” by Nancy Bond. This show follows a director as some “famous” actors and actresses audition for this new movie. He has made numerous false promises, so how will the stars react when they are betrayed? And will one of them stoop to murdering the scoundrel?
There are a total of 9-12 roles of varying caricatures, and we would love to see you audition. As this is a joint production, all auditions, rehearsal, and performances will be held at both FOG in Brooklyn Park AND South Santiago in Clear Lake, so please keep that in mind when auditioning! More info will be provided at auditions.
Auditions will be held Sunday, October 19th at South Santiago Lutheran Church, and Sunday, October 26th at FOG Lutheran Church, from 1pm-4pm both days. Sides will be provided at the time of auditions for cold reads, and plan on being there for the entirety of the audition block. Thank you for your interest, and we can’t wait to see what you hope to bring to “Suspect Hollywood!”
If you have any questions please email Director Jackson Peterson at mediafreak21@gmail.com or talk to stage manager Claudia Peterson.
Trunk or Treat: Join us on Wednesday, October 29 for Trunk or Treat! The event runs from 6 - 7:30 pm. Pizza dinner will be provided for volunteers. Sign up in the narthex if you’d like to host a trunk. All candy is provided. Talk to Terri Anderson-Webb or Pr. Erin if you have questions. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the fun and candy, so please invite friends!
*Dates for RIC discussion events: You may be aware of a ministry called Reconciling - Works. They offer an educational program called Reconciling in Christ (RIC). In essence, this RIC designation that congregations can earn is a sign to people in the LGBTQ+ community that we have done the work to be a safe place for them. Recently, our church council voted to authorize formal discussions in our congregation regarding our potential start in this program. We intend to hold multiple sessions in the coming months so the congregation can have as much information as possible on this topic. You likely have many questions about this development! We welcome your presence at one of our events:
Sunday, 10/19 at 11AM
Saturday, 10/25 at 11AM
Thursday, 11/6 at 7PM
Wednesday, 11/12 at 7PM
Mission Support: Part of our commitment to worldwide ministry is our mission support to Rev. Sack out of Japan. He teaches at a Lutheran seminary in Tokyo. Please consider contributing to this mission in 2025. The cost is $35 per week. Please sign up on the kiosk. Thank you!!
Monthly Church Newsletter: There will be a basket of printed newsletters on the “Welcome” table at the church. The newsletter will be available at the FOG website. If you would like to have a copy of the newsletter mailed to you, please contact the church office and to arrange for one to be mailed. Thank you!!
Pastoral Call or Visit: Have you or a loved one been hospitalized for an illness? Are you or a loved one feeling under the weather? Would you like a visit or a call from the pastor? We may not be your Facebook friend so please call 763-424-8625 or email admin@fogchurch.org letting us know here at the church office. Also let us know if we should add your name to the prayer chain or the prayer corner in Sunday’s bulletin.

Eternal Life Chapel is the church group that is renting from Family of God. They meet every Sunday at noon.

"The Shelf" at Champlin Park High School
Socks, pants, cough drops
Thank you to all who contributed to our North Hennepin Community College school supply/food drive. It was much appreciated.
For October, we will be doing a collection for Champlin Park High’s, The Shelf. Every school has different needs. CPHS has requested they are in need of dark colored pants in sizes Med-2xl. Stretch, wide leg and sweatpants would be much appreciated. They also need crew socks in white or black. One additional item, cough drops, are always requested. There are some examples of these items in our shopping cart. They were purchased at
Costco, Fleet Farm & Walmart.
Garage Sale Update
A huge effort was made to donate our unsold merchandise instead of putting it in the dumpster. We wanted to pass things along to be reused. All shoes were donated to Show Away Hunger which is part of Good for the Hood. Medical supplies went to Global Health Ministries. Christmas items were given to St. Alphonse’s Christmas sale. Books, videos, games and puzzles went to Able Light Thrift Store which supports 17 group homes for mentally challenged adults. Vines & Branches received half of our men’s & women’s clothing; the other half went to Teen Challenge. Anna Maria Alliance Women’s Shelter got all of our sleepwear & mugs. Children’s clothing & coats were given to Calvin Presbyterian Church which send items to an Indian reservation in ND. Leftover furniture items went to Habitat for Humanity Restore. The rest was given to Goodwill. Thanks to all who helped with this efforts, we raised over $12,000.00 at the garage sale.
Every Meals Backpack Summary
Family of God volunteers just finished up another successful year distributing back packs each week to students to bring home for the weekend. We partner with Clarity church (they meet at the school). Our total impact was distributing 2,712 food bags to the students. That’s over 10,414 meals. Always looking for new volunteers to help with this project. Think about it for this fall.

EVERY MEAL BACKPACK PROGRAM
SPONSORED BY SOCIAL MINISTRY
Every Meals at Edinbrook Elementary involves putting a bag of food in kids backpacks to take home for use on the weekends. It involves about an hour on Fridays or occasional other days depending on school schedule. We have a schedule as to when you serve and of course, trading if something comes up. If you would like to help out, please contact Kathy Behrens or let Alexa know at the church office.
Every Meal believes child hunger is solvable when they partner as a community to alleviate it. Where do we fit into this picture? Every Meal packs the food and delivers it too the school. Family of God volunteers put the food in student’s lockers on Friday afternoon. The school staff, students, & their families are very appreciative of this program.

CEAP's Meals on Wheels Program
Another volunteer opportunity to deliver meals through CEAP’s Meals on Wheels Program has come up as they are short on drivers.
The meal’s are picked up at 10:00 and most people are finished by noon. Currently they deliver to BP, BC, Crystal, Robbinsdale, New Hope, Golden Valley & Plymouth. Usually driver’s go out in pairs-one to navigate-the other to deliver meals.
Churches usually volunteer for certain days each month. We want to see the interest and then can organize. Could you help on a Monday, a Thursday or a Friday? Please e-mail the church office or Kathy Behrens at katbehrens47@gmail.com with your availability.
